RE: Return to Work after a Temporary Layoff - Coronavirus

This letter is to inform you that we are able to resume operations and that we can now recall employees to work. You were temporarily laid off on ________ with the possibility of being recalled as soon as the situation in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic has improved.

We are pleased to announce that you will be able to return to work as of ________. This letter is an official recall notice for the full-time ________ position you held. Prior to your return, you must inform ________ at ________ within ________ (________) working day(s) of your intention to return to work on the scheduled date. If you are unsure of your ability to return to work, please contact ________ within ________ (________) working day(s) of receiving this recall notice to discuss your concerns.


1- Measures

We shall endeavour to ensure you health and safety through the implementation of the following measure:

(a) All employees shall be provided with appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in order to limit contact with other persons and reduce chances of contracting COVID-19;

(b) All employees, customers, patrons and any other persons shall be encouraged to stay at least two (2) metres apart from each other at all times when it is possible. Everyone shall promote physical distancing when possible, which is one of the most effective ways to reduce the spread of illness;

(c) Only authorized personnel shall be permitted access to the workplace in order to help maintain social distancing;

(d) All employees shall restrict occupant capacity of indoor spaces to reduce crowding. A limited number of customers and other non-employees shall be permitted into the work premises at once to ensure sufficient distance between all customers and staff;

(e) The workplace shall be cleaned with increased regularity with all work surfaces and objects which are frequently used being disinfected using standard cleaning products.


2- Working Hours

Your working hours and salary will be as set out in your employment contract signed prior to your temporary layoff due to Covid-19.
