Dear ________

I write to confirm our conversation and agreement for you to come to stay with us 'au pair' to help us with the care of our child:

________ (aged ________ years)

You will start on ________. Please let us know when you have finalised your travel plans and it will be arranged so that one of us will be available to collect you and/or welcome you to the home.

During the first day or so after your arrival one or both of us will be at home with you to help you to get used to the house, the children, your responsibilities and the neighbourhood. It is our wish that you will be part of our family.

Your duties will be to look after and care for our child. We do not envisage detailed duties or strict timekeeping but your working hours, during which you will help with childcare and light housework, will be around ________ per week. Your responsibilities do not include heavy housework unrelated to the child such as cleaning the home, doing all the laundry or running an entire household when we are absent regularly, but there may occasionally be times when work of that kind might be necessary.

Normally you will have the equivalent of ________ days off per week at times which are mutually convenient, but which we will fix if, which we hope will not be the case, we cannot agree.

You will have your own bedroom. Bcaaeaf aa aadaaf facf pcb afff acea cf facaf pcbf acfb aacfa affa ba cbb acda facf pcb afff bcfacffp aa cf aff affa ba ca c aaaaaf cb cbf bcaffp fb pcbf fafabfa ffaa aaab pcb cfa cf acaa. Aa afff dfcefba pcbf fcca aacfa fb faa acaa fc pcb bfaa cb aacfda.

We will give you pocket money of £________ each week.

I also confirm that we are English-speaking British citizens and understand that you wish to practice your English while with us. During your time with us we invite to practice your English with us, and we hope to help your English and understanding of British culture. In return we hope that you will share your culture with us.

When we go on holiday or on outings with the children, we will expect you to accompany us, at our expense.

Your stay with us is planned to continue until ________, when you expect to return to you own home.

If you agree these terms, please sign the acknowledgment at the end of the enclosed copy of this letter and return it to us.

Yours sincerely
