Further to our most recent consultation meeting, it is with regret that I write to provide you with notice of your final selection for redundancy.
Reason for redundancy
You will be aware that staff members were initially notified on ________ that the business was considering making employee redundancies because the business is due to close.
Outline of the process to date
Throughout the redundancy selection process and individual consultations with you, careful thought has been given to all the possible ways in which your redundancy may avoided. Your views have also been given due consideration throughout this process.
As a result of the business closure, it is unfortunately the case that there are no possible alternatives to your redundancy and as such, a final decision confirming your selection for redundancy has now been made.
Notice of termination of your employment
As a result of the above final decision, this letter provides you with notice that your employment is to be terminated by reason of redundancy. I am required to provide you with one week of notice. Your final date of employment will therefore be on ________ Please note that all contractual benefits you may have been entitled to during your employment will cease on this date.
Final salary
You will receive your final salary and P45 on your usual payday.
Holiday pay
At the time of writing, you have annual leave left to take. Your final salary will include a payment in place of your untaken leave entitlement.
Statutory redundancy pay
You started employment with the business on ________.
Your length of service is determined with reference to your first day of employment and your final day of employment.
As such, your length of service is less than two years and you will not be entitled to any statutory redundancy pay.
Taxation
I will make the above payments to you with a deduction on income tax, as far as is legally possible. Statutory redundancy pay under £30,000 is generally tax-free.
Return of property
Please ensure that you return all property belonging to me on your last day of employment.
