Notice of Non-Renewal of Contract

This Notice of Non-Renewal of Contract is designed to be used by a party that wants not to renew a contract. It is intended to be used by the same party or parties that signed the original contract. For example, let's imagine that the original contract was between Company A and Company B, and Peter Jones is the sole director and secretary of Company A. If the contract is now not going to be renewed, then technically Company A would be choosing not to renew the contract (rather than Peter Jones). Even if Peter Jones signed the original contract as the director and secretary of Company A, he would have done so on behalf of Company A, rather than in his own name. In this case, we would select the third option ("One company or other organisation"), and Company A would also sign this Notice of Non-Renewal of Contract. Alternatively, let's imagine that Peter Jones runs a business as a sole trader, and Company A does not even exist. If Peter Jones signed a contract in his own name, and now wants not to renew the contract, then we would select the first option ("One person"), and Peter Jones would sign this Notice of Non-Renewal of Contract. In some other cases, a contract may involve multiple people. For example, if a husband and wife both sign a contract to rent some farm equipment, and now want not to renew that contract, then the husband and wife may both need to sign this Notice of Non-Renewal of Contract. In this case, we would select the second option ("Several people").
