Dear ________,

RE: Letter of Invitation

I am writing to confirm our previous conversations and, in light of your relevant qualifications and clean criminal record to invite you to come to stay with my family as an 'Au Pair' to help me with the care of my child:

________ (aged ________)

This invitation is conditional upon you obtaining the relevant visa to allow you to work with us in Australia. I shall cover the costs of you obtaining any such visa.

This offer is also conditional on you having the following relevant qualifications/experience:

________

I understand that you will be arriving on ________ and travelling by ________. I will come to meet you at ________ when you arrive. You can contact me at anytime should you need help on your journey. Please also let me know if your travel plans change, or if you are delayed.

During the first day or so after your arrival I will be at home with you to help you to get used to the house, the child, your responsibilities and the neighbourhood. It is my wish that you will be part of our family.

Your duties will be to look after and care for my child. Your duties will be flexible and may change from time to time as is necessary but your working hours, during which you will help with childcare and light housework, will be around ________ hours per week. Your responsibilities do not include heavy housework unrelated to the child such as cleaning the home, doing all the laundry or running an entire household when I am absent regularly, but there may occasionally be times when work of that kind might be necessary.

You will have your own bedroom and your own bathroom for your sole use.

It is expected that you will have at least your main meals with the family and I hope that you will normally be or sit with us as a member of my family in your leisure time when you are at home. I will provide your room and meals in the home to you free of charge.

You will be paid salary/wages in the following amount: ________.

The salary is a total remuneration package ("TRP") representing the total cost of your employment and includes all superannuation contributions required under the Superannuation Guarantee (Administration) Act 1992 and any regulations made pursuant thereto.

You will be entitled to leave in accordance with the applicable legislation and the National Employment Standards. Normally you will have the equivalent of ________ days off per week at times which are mutually convenient, but this may vary in some weeks. Additionally, I can provide some time for you to return to your home to visit friends and family during your time with us. This will be considered and arranged when requested.

You will also be required to pay board in the following amount: ________

Please also note that you must have health insurance in place for the duration of your stay with us and that I shall cover the cost of your insurance.

I can also confirm that I am English-speaking and understand that you wish to practice your English while with us. During your time with us I invite to practice your English with us, and I hope to help your English and understanding of Australian culture. In return I hope that you will share your culture with us, and I would appreciate it if you would converse with us in your language for one evening each week to improve our command of your language.

In addition I understand that you may wish to pursue, and I will support you in pursuing, the following educational opportunities:

________

When I go on holiday or on outings with the child, I will expect you to accompany us, at our expense.

Your stay with us is planned to continue until ________.
