What is a Pet Care Services Contract?

A pet care services agreement, also sometimes referred to as a pet sitting agreement or pet walking agreement, is a document between a service provider (the pet care provider) and a client ( the pet owner).

In a pet care agreement, the service provider contracts with the client to provide certain pet-related services. These can be any type of pet care services, such as dog walking, cat sitting or even hamster sitting.

The pet care agreement contains all the information the service provider needs to care for the animal.

What should a Pet Care Services Contract contain?

A Pet Care Services Contract should contain a clause whereby the client stipulates to the service provider exactly what they need to do to take care of the pet. The client indicates the exact services required, including dates and times. In a pet care agreement, the client should describe important details including:

  • The specific services;
  • The needs of the pet, including dietary restrictions;
  • Duration of walks and times; and
  • Information on pricing and payment methods.
