This Letter is used by landlords to suspend their tenant's rent payment for a specified period. By using this document, the landlord communicates their decision in writing to avoid any misunderstanding or dispute. A tenant is required by law to pay their rent as required in the Lease Agreement. However, the landlord may decide to waive the rent payment for a specific rent period for some reason, especially in situations where the tenant can not afford to pay rent for that period.

This letter is intended for both commercial and residential leases to waive rent temporarily and not permanently. This means that the waiver only applies for a specified period, and the tenant will resume their rent payment after the waiver period. For example, a landlord can waive one month's rent because their tenant is facing financial difficulty. Also, the document is not used to reduce a tenant's rent or provide a rent payment plan, as the Change of Rent Notice and Rent Payment Plan is available for download.
