Harassment Cease and Desist Letter

A Harassment Cease and Desist Letter is a letter sent to a party notifying them of their unwelcome and unsolicited conduct or practice. This letter warns the party to cease and desist from such conduct. Such unwanted activities may be defined as any action that insults or intimidates another.

There are sexual and non-sexual harassment. Examples of sexual harassment include an unwanted display of inappropriate images or videos, unwanted touching of any sensitive or private part of another, making unwanted and inappropriate sexual jokes, etc. Non-sexual harassment is any word or action that intimidates, threatens, or annoys another party, such as negative or racists comments that may be described as workplace harassment.

This document is used to serve as a formal warning to the person engaged in the harassing activity to stop and discontinue such offensive conduct. It can be used by a person who has been harassed by a neighbour, a colleague, employer, or any other person. It simply outlines details of the harassing activity and the consequences of the harassment.

Note that the website also has the General Cease and Desist Letter, which can be used to put an end to an unwanted activity and an Intellectual Property Cease and Desist Letter, which is designed to put an end to intellectual property infringement.
