A Job Offer Acceptance or Rejection is a letter a job candidate sends to an employer to accept or reject an employment offer. When a job applicant gets an Employment Offer, the next thing to do is to either accept or decline a job offer, and this document serves as a perfect response to an offer of employment.

This document is a succinct expression of a job candidate's willingness or refusal to take a job position, it is a formal acceptance or rejection of a job offer, and it clarifies the applicant's job position and resumption date.

How to use this document

A job candidate who has been offered employment should complete this document by filling the necessary spaces in the document.

After completing this document, the letter should be printed, signed by the job candidate and delivered to the recipient of this letter. Also, the job candidate should keep at least one copy of this letter for record purposes. Note that this document may be sent as a letter or an email.

If the applicant accepts the job offer, he or she becomes an employee and will be subject to the Employment Contract and other policy documents provided by the employer.

Applicable law

For a valid contract to exist between parties, there must be an offer and an acceptance. Therefore, a job candidate must send a response (either accepting or declining the offer) to their job offer as no response translates to no agreement.

Also, the Labour Act, 2004 applies to employment matters in Nigeria.
