Leave of Absence Agreement during the COVID-19/Coronavirus Crisis

A Leave of Absence Agreement is an agreement between an employer and employee stating the terms and conditions of the employee's leave. A Leave of Absence is a period an employee takes a time off from their job while maintain their status as employee of the organization.

Following the coronavirus/COVID-19 outbreak, many businesses have been forced to shut down and cease operation to limit the spread of the virus. As a result, many employers are forced to terminate their employee's Employment Contract, while some employees have to take a leave of absence from work.

This document can be used by an employee that wants to take a leave from work due to the coronavirus crisis.

Also, this document allows many employers to place their employees on leave rather than terminating their employment contract. For example, an employer may grant a Leave of Absence to their employees who do blue collar jobs such as drivers, cooks, cleaners, and other jobs that can not be done remotely, instead of terminating their employment.
