This Offer Letter for Internship is basic for use when a business is offering a full-time or part-time Internship to a successful candidate. Usually, this Letter would be sent after the successful completion of the interview process by the potential new Intern as a way to clarify the terms of the offer of Internship and prevent any disputes related to the stipend, position title, benefits, hours of work, and other additional details.

This Offer Letter is suitable for any type of business or entity including sole traders, partnerships, NGOs or companies in the goods or service industry.

This Offer Letter can be used to recruit a student pursuing his/her studies or a recent graduate.

This Offer Letter is not suitable for recruiting employees. A separate Offer Letter for Employment is available on this website.

If required a detailed Internship Agreement can be signed after sharing this Offer Letter. A separate Internship Agreement is available on this website.

How to use this document?

This letter can be used by an Employer that has decided to hire a new Intern on a full-time or part-time basis. The letter contains all the important specifics you will need to include in an Internship contract, including the position title, position description, stipend, and hours of work.

The Employer can use this Offer Letter in one of two manners:

1. as a record of the proposed terms of the contract of an Internship between the parties which the Employer then intends to follow up with a formal Internship Agreement (i.e. the Letter of Offer is "subject to contract"); or

2. the Letter of Offer itself may be used as a contract of Internship, which will become binding on the parties once signed by the Intern.

Once the Letter has been filled out and printed, the same can be signed by the Employer and then signed by the Intern in person or sent to the Intern by registered mail or email whereafter the Intern can sign and send it back.

Applicable Law

The Internship may be subject to the terms of the Indian Contract Act, 1872.
